Mark is a real life Structural Engineer. In his career, he has developed a specialty for the retrofit and repurposing of older historic buildings. However, one of his greatest joys is teaching and mentoring.
LEGO has been a great medium to take this joy and design vision to a new level where he views the buildings and associated LEGO creations to be an extension of his real-life design practice.
Mark has since extended his work to commission pieces, award-winning historic landmark re-creations and teachable art pieces. Most recently he is concentrating on pieces that he considers beautiful and that kids (of all ages) can enjoy. He has been a featured artist and exhibitor at gallery installations. He has also developed an acclaimed presentation entitled “LEGO: More than a Toy” which teaches parents, grandparents and caregivers how to use LEGO to relate to kids and others in their lives.
However, Mark most enjoys sharing his creations to inspire others to find their passion and develop their own creativity. Perhaps it will help inspire the next generation of Engineers and Designers.
